Jet Set Sail - When I Was In Hell
“fuck your band”Jet Set Sail rules. They slayed the handsome woman last night.
The results are in: We rule!
We just spent a long weekend driving. Friday night we played out in Kutztown, PA, where kids were super cool. It was in an art gallery, and some of the pieces we’re skateboarding photos from the 80’s/90’s, in addition to weird student art stuff. We left around midnight.
Then we drove through the night up to Concord, New Hampshire, where there are no places open for breakfast at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning. Like, none. It was stupid. Get with it, Concord. Some boring junk happened there and we left around 4 p.m.
We drove down to Connecticut while listening to Japanese language learning CDs. “Sumimasen. Nihongo ga wakarimasu ka?” We arrived at The Handsome Woman around 6 p.m., and we were greeted by Derrick from TWIABP. The house is awesome. There were show fliers on every wall. We changed clothes and showered and stuff, and I went with some guys to a food co-op to get beer while the other guys napped. The show started and Derrick’s other band I’m O.K. killed it. Another local CT band played and left real quick. It was weird. We played and “slayed,” as its been described. Ape Up! and Cassilis also played. I got to talk to the Ape Up! dudes for a while and they were super nice. Casillis absolutely blew me away. They were heavy as H-E-double-hockey-sticks.
After the show, we went to a pizza place across the street, and they had the most killer onion rings I’ve ever had. We left the Handsome Woman around midnight, and got back to Philly at 5AM.
Also, the weather was super nice all weekend. So, that was cool.
